The First Noel

I love Christmas, so when I found out I had married the grinch it was quite disappointing- just kidding! But seriously my husband isn't exactly singing fa la la la la around Christmas time like I am. I am playing holiday music right after my birthday (Nov.22), tree is up by December 1st the latest and I usually have a gift wrapped under the tree by then as well. This Christmas was extra special because it was our first one as a family of three. Our little man would experience his first Christmas outside of my tummy!

Every night we read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and Home Alone (yes, your favourite holiday movie is also a childrens picture book!) every night and even though he is too young to understand we still wanted to have some special festive moments.
When I was younger my mom would get the whole family pyjamas that we could open on Christmas eve, and have on for Christmas Day- so this year I did the same. I had already purchased my favourite buffalo plaid pj's the year before, my mom found pants for Landon and I bought some pants for my husband ( insert excited squeal!) Once the outfits were in place I was pretty content with that being our only Christmas Tradition, as Landon is too young to enjoy the other ones ( like baking, forts or tree decorating).
Christmas morning we had a mini photo shoot, opened presents at home ( we were truly blessed!), had breakfast, slept, played games ( with my in-laws) and later a dinner ( at my parents home) Christmas was great and I really can't wait to see how Christmas festivities evolve in the years to come.
What Christmas traditions do you have? Did you purchase a gift for your little one this year?
Can't wait to hear from you all!
-Xo,
Renai
