With each New Year we are faced with a decision to make, will this coming year be different than the last, if so- in what way? Will it be for better or for worse, will we have any say in how the year goes? There are actually more questions than I even considered before writing this. Regardless of how you approach each year, it will creep up on you with new adventures. Last year my greatest adventure was giving birth to a little boy. Now that he is here I can't help but wonder what the year has in store for him. I decided to make a short list of some resolutions I hope to see fulfilled in his life.
1.Sleep with Independence
Last year Landon was doing well with being put down while sleepy (but awake), however in the last couple of months he has thrown that skill out the window. He becomes crouching tiger hidden dragon whenever my husband or myself try to put him down. He refuses to be left alone in his crib- he will sleep on the couch during naps (from awake) and when he falls asleep and then is placed in his crib- nightmare ! I'm guessing its all apart of separation anxiety as he is really learning that when mommy or daddy walk away they are still somewhere in the house and he MUST be with them- or else!
2. Explore the World (on feet)
This resolution is all about the childhood wonder and making memories (that he will forget lol) I can't wait until he starts walking, it will be bitter sweet but it will be fun to see he stroll alongside my husband. He will be just over a year and a half by the end of this year and probably talking and singing away- I can't wait for him to react to different foods, explore farms, zoos, and so much more!
3.Learn: How To Use the Potty
Landon is only 7 months but in no time he will be walking, eating solids consistently, calling things by name and making poop with shape rather than splatter (lol) with that being said I really can't wait to teach him how to use the potty. It will probably be a very daunting task but the reward is fewer wipes and more toilet paper. Goodbye to the change pad and hello toilet seat! Seeing as the struggle is real with getting him to sleep right now I wont exactly be killing myself to get this task accomplished but to even start would be great!
4. Laugh his Head Off
I absolutely love the little laugh that Landon has, and knowing he will be one this year just makes me excited to see his personality come through. This year I hope he will reveal more of his personality. I'm praying a happy and calm temperament remains and the new ones that pop up, can't wait to see! But I really hope he loves to laugh and that he will laugh as many times as he can.
Do you have any resolutions for your little one(s), comment down below I'd love to see what you guys come up with!
